Prostate Cancer Screening

Prostate Cancer Screening

Prostate cancer often develops without noticeable symptoms in its early stages. That’s why routine screening is important– it can help detect prostate cancer early, when treatment is more effective and survival rates are significantly higher.

Who Should Get Screened?

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) recommends that men aged 50 to 69 undergo prostate cancer screening every 2 years.

Screening Test

At JHAH, prostate cancer screening begins with a consultation. Your Primary Care Physician will discuss your family history and other risk factors with you to determine whether a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test is appropriate.

The PSA test is a simple, quick blood test used to assess the health of your prostate. If you choose to proceed, your physician will arrange for the test.

How to Get Screened

To begin, book an appointment with your primary care physician to discuss your risk factors and schedule your screening.
