Laboratory

If your Primary Care physician or specialist healthcare provider decides that tests are needed to more accurately diagnose your particular condition, you may be asked to provide a blood, urine, stool or tissue sample. In most cases, you will receive your test results in one to eight hours, but be aware that less common tests – bacteria culture tests, for example – may take longer. To obtain your results, log in to MyChart, call us, or visit your closest laboratory, which will be open Sunday through Thursday. You can also request MyChart notifications that will inform you when your test results are ready for viewing. Please note: upon collection of your results, you will be asked to provide two forms of identification.

Vein Viewer for Blood Tests

Vein Viewer for Blood Tests

If you have deep, small, or difficult-to-find veins, locating a vein by traditional methods can be challenging. This can make your blood test experience stressful. To make you more comfortable, we offer the Vein Viewer, a solution that uses harmless near-infrared light to easily identify your veins when a blood test is needed, reducing the number of needle sticks.

We currently have two Vein Viewers at JHAH Dhahran, one in the Specialty Clinic laboratory and one in Oncology. Patients who feel that they would benefit from the use of the Vein Viewer can discuss this with their doctor or the lab staff.
